Do you take on more than 1 wedding a weekend?
No, we pay special attention to our bridal clients and their wedding day.
Can I afford a wedding planner?
Yes! The average couple (without a wedding planner) spends over 300 hours planning their wedding. Much of that time is spent looking for vendors and then meeting with one after the other until you find the perfect one. As wedding planners, we have already done the homework and have formed relationships with quality vendors. By getting to know you we can then direct you to one or two vendors that match your personality as well as your budget. This service alone will save you many hours. You can then use those hours to work, spend with your fiancé, spend with your family, and more. Plus, we are often able to find vendors or venues that couples have never even heard of. This is also true of ensuring that your wedding has a uniform feel throughout.
The venue has a coordinator included, so do I need a planner as well?
Yes! There is a difference between a venue coordinator and a wedding planner. A venue coordinator is responsible for ensuring that the venue is set up and ready and manages their staff. A wedding planner that offers on the day coordination is responsible for ensuring that all the external suppliers are on time, and adhere to the timeline they have created for the day. They coordinate the set up of décor, flowers, music and any other external product or service that has been booked. They then manage the flow of the wedding day from the morning to the evening. The hours are usually discussed and set at the meetings. Please see the proposal for more information on this topic and chat to us about any questions you may have.
Why is there no set price to planning and styling?
Each couple has unique requirements for their day. Some may require full planning assistance but not on the day assistance, some may need both. This is why we calculate your costing based on your specific needs.
What is the non-refundable booking fee?
This fee is to secure your date. Because we book the dates quite quickly and in advance, we require a fee to secure your date and hence your interest in using our services. This also covers the time already spent creating your initial proposal.
Why can you not give me a quote immediately?
Many weddings require us to source from external suppliers (dj’s, stationery etc) and we are also reliant on their schedules to get quotations back to us. It is not always possible to get every single quote within a few hours or even a day. Also, when having a look at your requirements, it takes time to create a design or styling mood / ideas board for you. We can have several to do a week, so we need the time to focus on yours exclusively when the time comes.
We don’t live in Gauteng, can you still help us?
Absolutely yes. The only thing to consider is that there will be extra travel and transport costs and accommodation if required. We have suppliers all over the country that we can call upon to assist as well as suppliers in Gauteng willing to travel.
How does your payment system work and can we do a payment plan?
We accept cash and eft’s. We do require an initial booking fee to hold the date (see previous question). We will then work with you to create a payment schedule that will work for you.
Do you do all the work yourself or do you have staff members to assist?
Yes, I do all the design, styling and sourcing work myself. We then add extra staff members to assist with setting up, take down service and on the day coordination should your wedding exceed a certain amount of guests. This will be discussed at the initial meeting.
What is the fastest time period you’ve arranged a wedding in?
4 days! MODE put together a wedding for Jakaranda Good Morning Angels for a deserving couple in just 4 days and created a lifetime of memories for them.
Who is your target market?
Clients that want to eliminate the stress of planning a wedding day. Clients who don’t know where to begin, or worry they will source suppliers that don’t create the same cohesive look and feel throughout the day. Clients who want to put their trust in a professional with experience.
